SW Minnesota
I think I understand your logic. Your saying without speculating storage pays. I don't think that works here. Right now the difference between the December bid and the July bid is 0.19/bu. That barely covers the interest incurred waiting till July to deliver grain. That doesn't leave much to pay for storage whether you own it or not. Maybe things are different in your markets. Lines haven't been an issue here. What goes to town out of the field I can have picked by semis as long as I have a grain cart availiable. I would like to know more about you figures i jusifying storage.
With that being said and the fact the land is a longterm deal Iwould say in order of importance: 1) tile 2) Sprayer 3)Fertilizer I have no opinion on since Over 80% of mine comes from manure and I seem to be building nutrients and Origanic matter.
