Western Oregon | Neat story.
Wife and I met July 4th on a blind date. I was friends with her brother. I was helping build a milk parlor for a new small dairy they were starting. His wife invited me to go to the 4th of July parade with them. She came with them, I met them there. We hit it off but I had started my wheat harvest and we had to wait a few weeks to go on our first date to the beach. Long day of talking and dinner, took her back to her Moms house and we talked in driveway until midnight. We had a couple other dates, I think once in the combine. Mostly, she brought dinner, ate in the tractor, plowing, then planting. I asked her Mom and Brother for her hand Sept 15th. We were married Friday Nov 25, 1973 during school break. I was 17, she was 14, she turned 15, 15 days later on Dec 10th. First Christmas 15 days later. Daughter born April 18, 1975. Son born Nov 20, 1978. I will be 70 March 27th. Wife was born in 1958. Our 52nd, was Nov 25th....James | |
