Both of my kids attended lots of visitations and funerals of relatives when growing up, and show no ill effects from it. My grand daughter was around 18 months old when my dad passed away, she made the visitation and funeral much more bearable, during the funeral she stood between my wife and I on the couch at the front and fell asleep, my mom was sitting on my left and it made it easier for her.
