| Small polygons is not a good practice, you need to find balance for your fields. In our software default min polygon area is 1000 m2 (0.24 ac), you can adjust it when create zones (and then merge/split individual polygons or zones).
Just created for 100ac field a seeding map based only on remote sensing data (multi-year vegetation, topography slopes with negative weight, soil brightness with negative weight). Farmer is happy, it looks exactly like his field.
Less rates/zones - easier to calculate post-harvest results (think about this season data as input for next season better agronomy). But too few of them - you probably won't utilize all the variability of the field.
