Anderson County Kansas
It’s not trading when you sell basis and the carry. Maybe you should learn what you are talking about before you spout off. Basis improves almost every year, and carry is almost always in the market. Add on top of that some of us don’t have time to sit in line. This year here basis on corn has improved 50 cents from the harvest lows to June delivery. Add the 30 cent carry that was available then and that’s 80 cents. The only way to capture that is bins. Storage charges in an elevator will eat it. How do you think elevators stay in business? It’s not by not by doing you a favor and losing money storing your grain.
