You are very fortunate to have that many markets for your grain that close. Almost no local elevators here, terminals are 21-35 miles…… which is not terrible. Most farms here have storage for at least half of production, and drying capability. Not being able to start harvest until corn dries to below 20 would be a real drawback IMO. Having to depend on open hours at an elevator to unload grain plus travel time would be a big negative. Not always cut and dried on payback numbers…… but the convenience of on farm storage is immeasurable.
