EC Nebraska | I read through some articles about it, apparently it's a specific form of chromium that's toxic.
That does degrade to a non-toxic form in the soil, but how fast is dependent on the soil biome.
Sounds as if some of those fields had the sludge spread regularly for decades. I suppose that might need a pretty intensive cover crop program to burn off the toxic form in a reasonable amount of time. | |
