Yes, Chris, we do complain to Deere about this and other things.
And yes, they do often actually seem to listen.
Making changes sometimes happens, sometimes not.
They had been moving totally toward the subscription model for all their technology, and got major pushback from a huge number of customers. They have subsequently backed off of that model to some degree, although have not made a total "180" on it. Instead of all new tech being totally subscription, they have gone back to offering the basic guidance and swath control as standard one-time permanent "unlocks" with the purchase of new equipment. Other features are still moving to subscription/annual fees. It seems they are offering either a somewhat "low-priced" annual subscription, OR a higher-up-front fee for a permanent license on some products, so we customers can choose which model fits them best.
They really do have some very competent people who seem to listen at the corporate (field) level. And our local techs and Ag-Pro Ohio level AMS techs are absolutely great! Several of us customers were just in a meeting this week with about 15-20 Ag Pro Ohio and Deere corporate types, and it was all about making improvements for next year, and answering questions to help us learn more about using the technology to our advantage...no sales pitches at all.
Good info, Thank you.
I will agree, the AMS team at AgPro has been good to work with when needed...we pull a LOT of green planters with our tractors...the AMS team are the only people that understand you don't HAVE to pull a Deere planter with a Deere tractor.
