I think what you're wanting can be done, I've seen it done with a 500 and pretty sure it was an early Field IQ section module. Still had to have the box in the cab to control rate. This one used a relay setup that I'm pretty sure came from Trimble to be able to run the polarity reversing valves on the Hardi. I also did something similar with an AL ISO liquid system but also had rate control. Rather than adding the flow meter, I just used it to control rate via feedback from a pressure sensor. I wasn't in love with that setup, it was kinda quirky. Looking back I should've just spent the money to add a flow meter and that would've taken some of the quirkiness out. I had other things going on with that sprayer too, some self inflicted, so it was a good day when it left for the Bestway I have now.
