Many years ago, a person could have a visit with the hiring person. But later, came personal computers and databases.
Needless to say, larger companies use these databases, and if there is any dirt on your file, true or not, they will not consider your interest.
Get caught shoplifting by say Walmart, etc., type stores, you will not work retail. And any company using these databases.
By the 1990s, if looking for a trucking job, they only needed your DL number.
In 2000 forward, say anything negative about a company on social media, good luck finding a job, if a company uses these databases. |
