Subject: RE: zidua pro vs zidua for preplant

NW Illinois
Zidua Pro has the Sharpen chemistry for burndown. If your not using this pre to kill weeds or have other things in the tank to handle it (24-D,Roundup) then going to straight Zidua is no problem. At 6 oz use rate of Zidua Pro you get 3.33 oz of straight Zidua. You will also lose the Pursuit (4 oz per acre @ 6 oz per acre of Zidua Pro use rate). You can add that back in as generic (Thunder) for about 1.00 an ounce if you choose.

Along the lines of the other posters, if waterhemp control is primary driver here for Zidua use, adding Valor, Authority, and or Metribuzin are pretty cheap and bolster the control.

Early pricing says for wholesale priced products is roughly:
Generic Metribuzin is .40 an ounce for liquid. Can use 4-12 ounces (Should note your soil types and how much atrazine you used in the previous year for lighter soils, dry climates due potential crop injury concerns)
Generic Valor is 1.00 an ounce for dry. 2-3 ounces is pretty cheap
Generic Authority is .65 an ounce for liquid. Can use 3-6 ounce pretty effectively as well

As IL Weedman already posted Anthem Maxx in my world is currently running 70.00 a gallon cheaper than Zidua SC or about .60 an ounce higher. Unless your using some part of the BASF respray program, using Anthem Maxx will save you some dollars.

Of course it's only mid December so likely be 3-4 chemistry price changes before the end of the month.
