Look at timing of attack on Ukraine. Fear of Ukraine being NATO member which would have been Russian suicide if they prolonged invasion after Biden took the reigns of POTUS. NOT fear of Trump.... fear of NATO blowing the hell out of them if advancing while Biden  was wanting them in NATO. HAD to act then to forgo any NATO issues. Pretty clear on the timing of things and both Presidential candidates perspective on the arena.
