Gregory SD | We chop most of our Alfalfa for protien, Then sell the second and third cuttings for a cash crop. With the hay market down, thinking of spraying out some of the older alfalfa stands and not replacing them. Also we are far enough away from terminals and distilleries that trucking cost is a factor to consider. We figured will only use about 4 -5 semi loads a year, so not going to use much and would still do some haylage yet. They were saying in a finishing ration the roasted beans put a bloom and a nice shine on the fats when sold. Also if your ration is too wet, using the beans would help dry it down.
