KY

re was no way to put a tube in and not have it too close to a vehicle when on a lift, so I sorta forced myself this direction. Forums told me to spend double on a modine, but I just couldn't see it, they are too similar for this one to have too many problems, they're just not that complex. I already had LP stubbed off inside my shop wall, so I mounted really close to straight up from that, put a tee on my incoming line, put a 6" nipple off the bottom of the tee for a drip leg and just ran csst from the upper side of that T into the back of the heater with a 90 elbow off the heater nipple to let my csst go straight on from the bottom. Worked pretty slick. Took about 5 minutes to cut and assemble the csst and saved me from having to flare copper or mess with a bunch more fittings and having to thread black iron with tools I don't have.

Thermostat is the cheapy amazon smart one (I believe it's a honeywell in truth). Ended up using 4 wires, RGWB I think and folded the yellow back out of the way on each end. Worked right first time I tried it. It's just temp wired for now, now that I have heat I can work on the rest of my plumbing and another welder drop and then I can figure out what I'm going to do to cover the bare studs that I have left of the previously "finished" space and I'll run the t stat wiring behind that before I do it.
