| All,
I'm looking at getting into variable rate mapping for a few applications.
However, I was wondering how everyone setup their maps when they are building prescriptions. Do any of you build out extra zones and slowly step the rate up or down? Or, do you all build your few zones like normal and let the rates jump from zone to zone?
If a person builds 5 zones in a field and doesn't step the rates up going in and out of zones will this cause any damage or performance issues to the machines applying the variable rate? For example, do you see excess wear and tear on planter drive parts or air seeder drive components when jumping the rate up and down throughout the field?
