The main issue is the average farmer is worth 23 times the average US family. So I guess the government has did a good job of supporting farmers.



The average U.S. farm household had $1,714,559 in wealth in 2020, according to the USDA Economic Research Service.
For commercial farmers, the median family net worth was $2.8 million, which is 23 times the median net worth of a typical American family.
Despite common perceptions, most U.S. farmers are not poor; the average farm (including land, equipment, and inventory) has a net worth of $251,900.
This indicates that while individual farmer income can vary significantly, the overall financial position of farming households is strong.
