I work in engineering and have some engineering level software that I personally own.
There are methods for those licenses from licensing where you don't actually own it and lose access without paying. Then the purchased option where you buy, then are expected to pay 20% annually of the license cost in maintenance to keep up-to-date versions and support. I bet many would forgo the updates if they didn't have to pay and Deere doesn't want that. | |
