Southern Missouri
Swath width just nearly has to be learned over thousands of acres with adjustments for weather conditions, mainly even when encountering a small breeze an adjustment needs made in height and width , the dang small breezes come and go ,being able to quote a wide width when conditions are perfect only goes so far , try it on a half mile wide 80 acre field of green soybeans with gramoxone on a day when you think the weather is perfect, we still see spots that a farmer won’t like , just have to have some overlap which no doubt means there’s strips getting to much , but those too much strips in a just a few days look just like the rest of the 1/2 mile wide field , BUT ,if you have even small areas of herbicide skipped strips or even small spots in that 1/2 mile wide field ,those herbicide skipped spots will never look like the rest of the field before the combine gets there ,I don’t understand why so many people doing the testing don’t wanna do it on big easy to see areas , they try to find a spot showing they can go wide ,and that’s not hard to do on small areas , but do it all day long day after day on hundreds and even thousand's of acres and do it to where the farmer doesn’t call you up and say you need to come look ,hate it when that happens ,running a narrower swath is easier than going to look at that herbicide missed spot with a farmer ,what I’m saying is we’ve had very hard time believing what we’ve been told on it from anyone even remotely connected with drone sales
