FWIW my dad used to pull a 14’ bumper pull and however many cows or hogs we could cram on there. Pulled it with a 1950 Chevy half ton Fleetside with the “powerful” 230 (235?) straight six and a “3 on the tree.” He did eventually swap in a four speed. It would also haul 60 bushels of soybeans in the bed, but not while pulling the trailer.
