| It sounds good in theory, but does not work as well in practice. One thing to consider is if you have hills a basic light bar will not be terrain compensating. When you have an autosteer system most of them have some sort of roll compensation. Your light bar will not. If you go across a slope the light bar will put the receiver on line, but the tractor will be leaning and the drawbar will be several inches off the line as compared to the receiver position. The only spot a light bar might be better than markers is if you are planting in an environment where you can't see the marker mark. Then it will be better than running blind, but otherwise the marker will give better results. | |
