Milford, IL | Agree, 350 TBI was not a great engine. Low power, weak heads and flat tappet camshaft that might not make 150k miles when engine oil was designed for flat tappet cams.
350 Vortec was much better, roller cam, acceptable power for light towing, very reliable. Most from that era here are miled out or rusted in half.
6.0 is better yet and outstanding reliablilty. Fuel pumps are a weak link on GM pickups in 90s and 2000s - some of the blame can be directed lax (or never) fuel filter replacement interval. OBD2 is a good thing. | |
