That's what I did with our 4010. A new Iskra starter from J&N was about $130 and I already had had a GM 12SI alternator. I ripped everything electric off. I wired the tractor with only what it needed. Mechanical oil pressure and water temperature and no other instrumentation. I did wire everything through a relay operated by the key. That way the vandals can't turn on the lights and run down the battery without a key.
