Subject: Alternator exciter wire on Gleaner A75

NC KS
Can't get much over 12.4 volts out of alternator. Occasionally goes up to 14 or a little over. Voltage is the same in cab or on alternator. Exciter wire post has 10.5 volts on it but it has a diode and 47 ohm 10 watt resistor ahead of it according to wiring diagram. Is that voltage normal on the exciter?
I am thinking regulator or alternator is bad except for that reading on the exciter.

150 amp Bosch alternator with 1 big wire and exciter wire. Nothing else hooked up to it.
