Southern MN | Here is the wire diagram out of my fan box. Its not that complicated once you understand it. Power flows through the Stop switch (which is NC) and to the Start switch (which is NO). When you press the Start, you complete the circuit to the coil, the coil moves and closes the Aux Contacts which maintains the complete circuit even after you release the Start button. Pressing the Stop button opens the circuit which removes power from the coil which opens the Aux Contacts and also shuts off the motor.
I'm not an electrician. Its up to you to verify any information I provided is correct, meets electrical codes, and is safe before implementing changes.
