Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
Guess I'm not really sure. As mentioned above I have a SteerCommand Z2 running through the tractor's CAN on a Deere 8310R with ILS. The tractor came from the factory with Deere's WAS sensor which is used with the system.

I also have an older Deere 8120 with ILS that uses Ag Leaders SteerCommand (non-Z2). It did require Ag Leaders WAS since the tractor did not come with one. The tractor did have a Trimble system installed which used Trimble's auto sense. The Auto Sense was removed when the Nav II was replaced by the Steer Command since Steer Command can not use Trimble's Auto Sense.

My installer was not happy with Ag Leaders "one size fits all" brackets for their WAS so he made his own which has worked very well.

I am quite certain that a WAS would be needed for ILS and non-ILS tractors. The system must know the position of the front wheels in order to decide how much to turn them.
