I've had 2 292 Y blocks. One had a spun cam bearing and had an oiler line added to oil the top end. The other was in a '62 or '63 Ford C-600 grain truck with a 18 or 20 foot box. It drove but was pretty slow. Both were at the end of their lives here.
If ya find a nice one it may do what you want but I would find something different.
