As I listen to him, 15$ an acre isnt going to make a dent to input cost savings, to get that type of sprayer is 6-700k$... plus a fee on non sprayed acres. Bigger problem is monopoly on seed, fertilzer and chemical side. Anhydrous goes up everytime corn goes up. Price of natural gas is direct input cost...... under 5$ per therm.... they charge because of no competition. Dry fertilizer is controlled by a few, then add teriffs in Canadian potash.... I hope I'm low cost producer , run 3500 hr combines, I do have a Deere High speed planter upgrade for 70K $in 2021 on an 11 year old 16 row deere. Today"s margins are tight, yet plenty of bidding on land, so maybe the ag economy isn't in a decline .....YET. I'm just not spending on capital purchases, repairing and good service will get met for a few years. Any thoughts???

It’s the up-front barriers to entry/purchase price on the newest tech that requires economy of scale (acres) to drive the returns.
