Subject: Mr Heater / Modine hanging heater vent connection ?

KY
Several of you I’ve seen are using these heaters… what am I missing? I cannot for the life of me get the vent pipe connected to the heater. I bought everything from the materials list that Menards listed for this heater, and the connection does NOT fit the heater side. (See pic with the corrugated end that has slits in it (I cut the slits in a hail
mary attempt.) A “professional” gave me the PN# for what he said I needed which was a z flex piece, and I could only find from “supply house.com” and had to pay expedited shipping to get it in a reasonable time.. shows up this morning, fits the piping well enough I guess, but will not fit the heater. Just barely starts to go over the edge of it but will not go on. I have not really tried to force it, but have put plenty of hand pressure on it. It’s like everything I get ahold of is the same identical
OD. This is all cat 3 stainless single wall
Selkirk pipe that everyone brags about. I’m at the point I’ll go buy whatever if there’s something out there that will just flippin go together. I’m almost at the point I’d high heat tape this latest fitting on there.
