Wisconsin | I think most points have been covered. It comes down to how much will you use it? are the drawbacks less important than the time saved, and ability to weld lighter material?
One thing I keep seeing is poor penetration on mig welds, so I disagree that you turn it on and weld. It's a different skill than stick welding. I've survived with a stick welder, bought a wire feed and just haven't figured it out as well, so most of my welding is with an inverter purse welder.
