SW Minnesota | I have had Lincoln for most of my farming career and grew up with an older Lincoln. I got a Miller 252 about 17 years ago. The Miller gets used in the shop and occasionally in the hog barns, The stick welder stays on the generator cart. We just don't use the stick for anything but outside feedlot fencing. I do way more welding now partly because of the hog barns and partly because wire is so much more efficient. I don't know if it is a lot but it is over 100lbs of mild steel wire and 25lbs of stainless per year. If you start wire welding the most important thing is don't hold the tip as close to the work as you do the stick welder, | |
