285s have the cool factor, but do wear out the front end a little faster, poorer on snow due to the "larger, wider foot print, lower psi" theory, have observed lower mileage due to same footprint. And rub the fenders on certain models.

That said I've run them on my old 05 diesel with little ill effects.

Currently running 255/80/17 on that unit and much happier. 3/4" shorter but everything else is a plus.
