western NY
We had a 7000 6 row. Good planter but teeth on the transmission would wear prematurely and be a pain to replace. Especially in season. "L" shaped drive dogs for the chains would wear and malfunction.

We had a 7200 12 row. Good planter but marker arms would break now and then. The way it folded would cause wires to pinch periodically. Frame broke once. Nightmare to fix in the field. This is a known defect on 7000 & 7200 12 row planters.

We've had a 2012 12 row 1770nt for five years now. Best planter we've ever had. Love the way it folds. Had to replace the air compressor a few times but they're only a few hundred dollars online. Run it with a 4440.

7000 and 7200 were dry fertilizer. 1770nt is liquid.

All planters were/are finger pickup.
