North Central Indiana | Are you more profitable with increased time, equipment, crop damage, labor, tissue samples etc? It’s pretty dang cheap to buy bulk fertilizer, load with a junk auger, and use an old spreader to spread it and then make one pass of .7 pounds of N per bushel yield goal of NH3 in the spring. We tried the split applied in season N back 10 years or so. Never could make it profitable on our farm, just added extra work in the summer and additional passes across the field | |
