Good to hear somebody saying it. The avocado toast, and cell phones and flashy cars get a lot of blame for irresponsible spending, but houses get a pass because they always appreciated when boomers were the ones owning them. Well, boomers didn't have the ease of blowing money on "surface bling" remodel projects that consumers do today. People think buying a "shabby" 20 year old home and updating it is an investment. It's not, it's consumption if it will be just as dated when you're done with it. |
