mercer county, il
We’ve pulled lots of trees and brush mid contract in crp, but, they weren’t supposed to be there as a part of the crp.

And honestly? A situation like that but a pasture, a neighbor kinda balked when I told him $100/hr for a 100hp tracked skid steer and tree puller. But he said go ahead and do $1000 worth and see where we’re at, and was super happy with the results, and that was my 14yo running it.

It’s pretty amazing what someone who’s skilled and in a big enough machine can do. 8ac grown up like that would probably only cost $150/ac to get cleaned up. Id burn it, pull anything decent sized, then hit it with a heavy disc a couple times.

My advice would be don’t mow it. Tires will push the little trees over, disc will get a hold of them and cut them up. Mowed off little trees can be vicious on tires.
