There are no John Deere subscription fees involved with setting up your own base station. By putting SF2 and RTK Ready Activations on your 3000s, along with RTK Radios (900 are typically used for mobile applications because there's no need for a FCC radio license), and putting one receiver in a stationary location configured as a base station, you'll have all you need.
I'm sort of in the same boat as the OP, have 4x 3000 receivers, 3x 2630's and a 2600. I believe the displays are all any level autotrac. The receivers are all SF1. Given the age of the 3000 receivers, and the cost of activations, what would you recommend a guy to do if he wanted to go to RTK? I'm not too spread out, but definitely don't have line of sight from bin site to all farms. Wouldn't necessarily need all receivers on RTK, I'm thinking planter and combine would be most critical, everything else can stay on SF1 |
