Southern MN | Several young guys around here have done really well spraying with drones, at least this year. I just don’t see this being viable for very long. Plenty of used ones and new ones are not that expensive if you have many acres to do of your own. Am guessing they will have 1 maybe 2 good years left before either the farmers all buy their own or the market becomes so saturated they are doing it for half of what they are now. This was the perfect year for a custom business with a very good crop in the field and all the disease pressure. Even the lack of wind was a major help to them this year as last year they only had about 1/2 the days they could fly compared to this year. | |
