The #1 way to get a high APH is to have a silage appraisal done every year. Its extremely rare for a check strip harvested for grain to beat the silage appraisal from 3-4 weeks prior. The combine and scale don't lie....
And a 230 APH is nothing to sneeze at. Everyone brags about the really high yields, they don't brag about the fields/years that are 10-20 bpa under APH.
