kb ag - 12/7/2025 10:02 Back that up with some facts, or numbers, or something. I think the reason some farm 5000 acres is they are good at what they do and have foresight and want the farm to stay viable.

The guys that want to chase ever more acres at a low margin so they have a chance at hitting it big when the markets align are the guys that drive up land prices/rents.     Land cost is the #1 factor in COP leading to low margins.     Their drive to stay viable in a shrinking margin game is self fulfilling, they're the ones shrinking the margins.

Guys that are happy with the acres they have, are never the guys driving rents higher/margins lower.

Also, when they're the ones crying for a govt handout because of low margins, I'm not sure they're actually "good at what they do" either, unless "what they do" is farming the tax payers.
