A good multi generational farm with a big paid for land base is hard to compete against.

Key to that is not requiring someone to pay for 50-80% of the same land every 25 years.

How do you ethically get around that besides getting lucky and eveyone stays and pools the farm?

What’s the issue with ethics? Nobody is entitled to what someone else built. There’s no requirement to leave anyone anything.

IMO it’s just as ethical to leave people out of an inheritance as it is to get an inheritance, blow it, and leave the next generation without. The latter happens all the time, why not the former?
