I think you have been around farming and tractors almost as long as I have.  Many, many years ago, JD model D distillate tractors were common. My father even had one. Once warmed up it could be run on distillate. The engine would suffer severe knock problems under heavy load. It had a distilled water reservoir that would inject water to quell the knock. Never heard of a turboed JD D but maybe you have???
