You put into words what I have been thinking for the past few years. Cost of machinery whether new or used is out of line.
When I started farming 30-40 years ago I did quite a bit of custom farming. I could buy a new machine and pay for it within a year or two and still have a good machine left. Now, by the time you pay for a new machine it’s wore out or going to need a lot of costly repairs.
I think some of it has to do with how much money we have left over from 'living' that is available to pay something off. Personal spending is way out of hand. We have tons of luxury we consider needs. |
