You put into words what I have been thinking for the past few years. Cost of machinery whether new or used is out of line.
When I started farming 30-40 years ago I did quite a bit of custom farming. I could buy a new machine and pay for it within a year or two and still have a good machine left. Now, by the time you pay for a new machine it’s wore out or going to need a lot of costly repairs.
Would disagree that used machinery prices are out of line. Currently can buy more machinery capacity for the $ than any time in my farming career. |
