Hooker Twp,Ne | Kind of makes me wonder about the days when farming was changing over from horses to tractors. Wonder how many farmers in those days thought the same way. I’m 72 and can still remember my grandpas neighbor using horses to farm rent land. He would also walk over to my grandparents place (over half mile) every Thursday evening and give them some money for groceries and chewing tobacco as he knew my grandparents would go to town on Fridays. In my farming career I have bought a few new pieces of machinery but by far more used pieces of machinery. Always thought that someday it would be better to have machinery worth something to sell then have junk dealer haul it off. However I’m fortunate to have a son that wishes to continue farming the family farm that my wife and I (are/were) fortunate to be able to farm.
