Dad built 2- 100 foot round roof buildings with his gold 10 inch Craftsman table saw, 3 ply rafters 2 foot on center. for the first in about 1961 he put 9 hp briggs engine on the saw (pinched once and threw him over the lumber pile) For the barn in 1970 he hooked a 1/2 hp motor onto the 1 hpo already on the saw (the saw motor had a shaft out both ends). Just guessing those rafters are about 50-60 feet long, so take 50 x 3 equals 150 foot cut per board x51 rafters so 7650 feet of sawing, if he did not size them, which I would think he would have had to do as it was all rough lumber in which case it was 15,300 feet per building. Was mostly elm and basswood so softer then oak though.
