Well. I wasn't aware that I exuded so much entitlement. Maybe I just wasn't clear enough with my intent of conversation.
Let's generate a scenario. Math with tens is easy, let's say there are approximately ten cousins in the descendants tree of this hypothetical operation. Let's say that 2/10 of those cousins were there pretty much since kindergarten. Let's say the other 8/10 never lifted a bale of hay, never climbed a silo, never swept a bin, never sorted livestock, never planted 40 hours straight to beat a storm, whatever. Couldn't even find the property if you handed them a plat book.
The 2/10, who don't have a single square inch of the property in their name, get to try figuring out how to mortgage themselves to the hilt and make 20 or 30 years of payments ao as to keep "the farm." Are the 2/10 "entitled" or are they simply stupid because the day after graduating high school they didn't run far, far, far away? |
