It would be a novel concept, you feed the grain you grow back to your tractors and use the exhaust for fertilizer for the next crop. No deals with China needed to export the grain so you can import fertilizer from your enemies to grow grain to sell to your enemies and subsidize it with imported labor and fake policy. Money stays local with the blacksmith, horse vet, hardware store, feed mill. Nobody will be fighting over cash rent because they'll be too tired from the actual physical labor.
