You can buy a 4440 pretty reasonable, not hard to get a lot done with a pair of them.

Margins are the problem. If a 500 acre farmer and a 5000 acre farmer both make $50 an acre, one can’t feed his family.



Why should a farmer on 500 acres be able to feed his family without working full time? First off, there is a lot of cheaper large equipment that can make quick work of 500 acres. He just needs to find something productive and profitable to do the rest of the time. Farming isn't a human right. It is a business. I often wish we had more downtime, but then I'd go crazy wondering where we were getting behind and not keeping up with tje competition. It is just easier to work, maybe slower at times, but still moving forwards.
