John Deere, Case IH, or someone would produce a small line of equipment, with 25% of the current electronics and sensors, that would enable smaller producers to stay in the game.
If they would make a good set of horse harnesses 1 bottom plows and check planters and the Amish would sell more draft horses, then every boy could become a corn farmer.
Don't laugh, I was going to use the example of a guy that rebuilt new idea ground drive manure spreaders, 12A maybe? Actually the Amish make plenty of harness and plows, not sure about the check planters, but maybe somewhere. Agreeing with farmerBK, people think we could go back, but we won't. Electronic engines and transmission controls are not going to go away, it's the whole infrastructure of suppliers, engineering, and dealer support, it's all dependent on what's current, and what's coming. | |
