| We have several of them here in central SD. Funny thing is, most of them are early 7100 series with the big model # decals, or else late 8900 series Magnums. A lot of cattle operations bought the early 7100s and loved the creeper transmissions for either pulling a stackmover or running a snowblower....the slow reverse speed comes in handy with either job.
The reason a lot of 8900 series Magnums were sold here was because of the winter of 1996-97, which was extremely brutal in this area for snow removal. Seemed like a lot of guys wanted Magnums with creepers again, so we sold a fair # of 8900 series with creepers.
Several guys still have those tractors with creepers....never know when it comes in handy. Worst thing about a creeper transmission is the creeper solenoid valve is $1500 through parts the last I knew....they are on the bottom of the transmission valve and tend to get hit by something every now and then. | |
